A Million Poles Will Pray on the Anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto With the Action "Rosary on the Border"

A Million Poles will pray on the anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto on the border of their homeland for God's intervention for the people and fatherland and the conversion of Europe
(Rome) Pope Francis referred in his greetings to Polish pilgrims on the occasion of 100 years of Fatima,
"In each of the six appearances, the Mother of God asked, 'I want you to pray the Rosary.' Let us pray, by responding to their request, together for the Church, for the Chair of Peter, and for the cares of the whole world. Let us ask forgiveness for sins. Let us pray for the conversion of the doubtful, for those who deny God and for the souls in purgatory. I sincerely bless you for all of you who pray the Rosary."
A priest translated the words into Polish.

One million Poles to pray the rosary on the border of their land

Next Saturday, a million Poles will gather along the borders of their land and pray the Rosary. A laity initiative has called for a Rosary Celebration (Feast of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary) to a rosary of expiation. The idea comes from the foundation God Alone is Sufficient and has the full support of the Polish Episcopal ConferenceWith a statement, the bishops called on Poles to participate in the action and to secure the borders of the country with the Rosary. The action was intended to emphasize the foundations on which the Polish state of affairs rests, and to procure the Divine Assistance for its people and land.
The action is called "Rozaniec do granic" (Rosary on the Border). More than 300 churches near the border are involved in the action, as are churches at the most important airports in the country and in other countries where Polish communities abroad are located. On the website of the action it reads,
"The Rosary is a powerful weapon in the fight against evil, so powerful that it has not only changed the course of history once. There are thousands of testimonies and proven miracles that prove its exceptional effectiveness."
"As a salvation for the world Our Lady shows the prayer of the Rosary."
"This is why we believe that when the Rosary will be prayed by about a million Poles gathered at the borders of the country, this can not only change the course of events, but open the hearts of our countrymen to the grace of God."
"The powerful prayer of the Rosary can influence the fate of Poland, Europe and even the whole world."
"In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph."

"We pray for the people and the Fatherland and for the conversion of Europe"

Maciej Bodasinski, the founder of the God Foundation alone, and one of the initiators of the prayer campaign, told LifeSiteNews that "for the conversion of Poland, the conversion of Europe and the conversion of the whole world to Christ" has been prayed, "so that as many souls as possible are saved from eternal damnation and find the way to God." Bodasinski also referred to the "growing danger of war and terrorism." The Rosary is also an "act of expiation for the Communist past of Poland and the curses and wounds inflicted on the Immaculate Heart of Mary."
The Poles will pray for the people and the fatherland, and it addressees also the European Union, which is leading a more or less open march against the countries of Central Europe because they oppose the just as illegal, unrestrained mass immigration leading to an Islamization of Europe.
The Vaticanist Marco Tosatti talks of a Catholic, Polish resistance, against an attitude which has generally replaced the group's interests and lobbying interests. The Islamization, which the initiators of the Polish prayer campaign want to prevent in their country, is - according to Tosatti - a fact.

Islamization is a fact: in Vienna from 0.4 percent to 28 percent

The Vaticanist refers to two reports. In the past two days alone, 5,000 boat migrants had arrived in France without being reported by the media. In order not "to not disturb business", says Tosatti. He also published figures on the Islamization of Vienna, the capital of Austria. The share of Muslims in the population:
  • 1971: 0.4 percent
  • 2011: 11.6 percent
  • 2017: it is not known (but 28 percent of the students are Muslims).
To this says Tosatti:
"The undersigned personally has nothing against Muslims, but how should one describe the phenomenon of an increase of such magnitude, if not an invasion?"

Prayer action on the day of the Battle of Lepanto

Battle of Lepanto 1571

The prayer campaign "Rosary on the Border" will take place on October 7, as the initiators announced, because on 7 October 1571 the Christian fleet commanded by Don Juan d'Austria defeated the Turks in the Battle of Lepanto and because it was a first Saturday of the month. The Mother of God asked in Fatima for the worship of her Immaculate Heart and the daily prayer of the rosary, but also for reparation on five successive first Saturdays of the month. The 7th of October, 2017 is such an Immaculate Heart of Mary Sunday. The Rosary Festival was introduced to thank Her for the victory of Lepanto.
The Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza, owned by the US billionaire George Soros, is trying to spoil the prayer campaign, according to Tosatti.

The program

The action begins at 10:30 am with prayer and catechesis in all churches. At 11 am Holy Mass will be celebrated and Eucharistic Adoration will be held from 12 noon. Afterwards there will be an opportunity for lunch, then the participants go to the nearby border where the rosary will be prayed at 2 pm.
The prayer action is going to be broadcast by Radio Maryja .
"The Poles at least have limits," says Tosatti. It would also be time for other peoples to pray.

Benedict XVI Laments the Forgetfulness of God in the Liturgy

The emeritus pope points out in a preface to the Russian edition of his works on the liturgy that if the pre-eminence of God is no longer evident in liturgy and life, the Church is in danger

Rome (kath.net/KAP) The emeritus Pope Benedict XVI has lamented a "darkening" of God in the liturgy. This is the real cause of the crisis of the Church, writes the 90-year-old in a preface to the Russian edition of his works on the liturgy.

In a widespread misunderstanding of the liturgical form, the emphasis was placed on the division of the liturgy as well as its own activity and creativity. But if the primacy of God is no longer evident in the liturgy and in life, the Church is in danger, according to Benedict XVI. in the preface, which the Italian newspaper La Stampa cited on Wednesday.

Benedict XVI recalled the principle of the monastic rule of Benedict of Nursia (c. 480-547) that nothing should be preferred above worship. This was deliberately formulated by the founder of Western monasticism in view of seemingly greater urgency in agriculture, artisan work, or science. This priority of God applies not only in the monastic life, emphasized Benedict XVI.  If man were to set God aside, he would be subjugated by constructs that would enslave him and contradict his human dignity.

Are Vatileaks 3 Here? Who Really Controls Vatican Finances? -- "Seek, Seek!"

Vatican Financial Information Authority (AIF): "Directors, presidents, accountants have been dismissed, but those who have to control everything, the AIF always remains untouched and unsupervised, as if it did not exist?"
(Rome) The Vaticanist Marco Tosatti has now turned his eyes away from the Correctio filialisThe reason is a letter whose author he did not name by name, but a "high animal." This "high animal" deals less with theology, but more so with politics. Through the Correctio filialis  a different topic had disappeared from the headlines: the interview by Libero MiloneMilone was appointed Auditor General  by Pope Francis in 2015 for the Holy See and all its institutions. On the 19th of June, Milone was suddenly shown the door. One reason for this was the fact that the Vatican press office and curial Archbishop Angelo Becciu, a Substitute for the State Secretariat, was explained in the interview: Milone had "spied upon some representatives of the Holy See."
This  "high beast" explained this situation in a letter to Marco Tosatti, which has distracted our attention from the Correctio filialis and the petitions connected with it "for only five minutes ."
"My impression, which I have gained, is the customary (as in Vatikleaks 1 and Vatileaks 2): that this argument [the Correctio filialis] was used to divert attention from the so - called "Case Milone" and the Vatican finances about which I only know from what I read in the newspapers, including Milone's interview in Corriere della Sera.
After five years, we see that 'unrest' is growing exponentially because of Vatican finances. I do not know much, but if I could give advice to the Pope and, above all, to the Secretary of State, I would ask it to undertake an investigation into the investigations which the Vatican Taxes' Control Authority is managing and overseeing. Is it possible for directors, presidents, auditors to be dismissed, but those who would have to control everything, the AIF [Vatican Financial Information Authority], always remain untouched and unaffected, as if they did not exist? But do the leaders of the AIF really command? On behalf of whom?
Pope Francis, Cardinal Parolin, we beseech you for the good of the Church: Seek! Seek!"

The AIF

The Vatican Financial Information Authority (AIF), mentioned in the letter to Tosatti, was begun by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010 under the constant pressure of international bodies for "more transparency". As head of the authority, he appointed a cardinal. Nevertheless, Moneyval, a Council of Europe expert committee for the assessment of measures against money laundering and terrorist financing, criticized the measure as inadequate.
A few months after his election, Pope Francis made far-reaching changes. The first operation took place on 8 August 2013. In November of that year, he entered a new law into power for the AIF with a motu proprio . At the same time the Global Players came under the advisory firms in the Vatican with his pontificate. Katholisches.info wrote on January 28, 2014:
McKinsey , Promontory, Ernst & Young , KPMG: With the new pontificate, the Vatican also began a race to engage the most elaborate and costly consultancy companies in the world in terms of organization and finance. The world as a "global village" makes them indispensable and, above all, they themselves are indispensable. A system of efficiency and striving for profit, which reinvents itself independently and constantly increases in power. No finance minister comes out without them because they have long since lost perspective. For this reason the consultancy companies already write the laws themselves, which are blessed by the political process. This is also the case in the Federal Republic of Germany. In whose interest are a dozen international consulting firms working?"
The Swiss René Brülhart became the new director of the AIF in November 2012 to implement the demands of the Moneyval report, as the Vatican Press Office said. Since 2014 he is its president. According to Francis, Brülhart is bound only by the Pope, and has to report to him. This also applied to Auditor General Milone, but from September 2016 onwards, Francis did not receive him. Milone, who wanted to speak with Francis about his dismissal, did not gain access to him.
Brülhart made Tommaso Di Ruzza his successor as director. In addition to Brülhart and Di Ruzza, Maria Bianca Farina (Italy), Marc Odendall (France), Joseph Yuvaray Pillay (Singapore) and Juan C. Zarate (USA) are members of the AIF Board.

Marc Odendall

At the turn of the year 2016/2017, Marc Odendall had been named in connection with the conflict in the Order of Malta, between Grand Chancellor Albrecht von Boeselager and Grandmaster Fra Festing. Pope Francis placed himself on the side of Boeselager and dismissed the Grand Master. Francis drew upon on the report of a commission appointed by him. The commission had attributed to the Grand Chancellor, who had been dismissed at the time, faultless behavior. Odendall was one of the five Commissioners. According to a judgment of the Hamburg Regional Court, Boeselager knew about the distribution of contraceptives by Maltese International and also approved this. Thus, as far as the conflict in the Maltese Order is concerned, the behavior of the Grand Chancellor was not so faultless.
Grandmaster Festing had previously accused the commission of "bias" because at least three of the five members were in business dealings with Boeselager. The Pope did not care. Nor was he concerned that the Hamburg Court indirectly questioned the credibility of the Commission's report. Fra Festing's accusation was confirmed, however, Pope Francis applied the exculpatory report.
Boeselager and Odendall are linked to the Caritas Pro Vitae Gradu Charitable Trust (CPVG), registered in New Zealand, which is valued at 120 million Swiss francs  and is administered by a Swiss trustee.

The protective hand of the State Secretariat

The Secretary of State, in other words, Substitute for General Affairs Becciu, followed the dismissal of Auditor General  Milone. The State Secretariat holds the protective hand over the AIF. The Secretariat of State elected the five Commissioners, who gave Pope Francis the dubious document, with Grand Master Festing, and Boeselager was again appointed as Chancellor. Becciu was appointed by Pope Francis as his personal representative in the Order of Malta, and the official representative of the pope, Cardinal Patron Raymond Burke, was marginalized.
The "high animal" that Tosatti mentions, however, did not mean Substitute Becciu with the questions: "But do the heads of the AIF really command? On behalf of whom?"

Retired Bishop Suggests Bergoglio Might be Anti-Pope

[Abyssum Abyssus Invocat] Recent commentaries by blogger Steve Skojec (A Brief Note on The Question of a Legally Valid Papal Election) and canon lawyer Edward Peters (Francis was never pope? Call me unpersuaded.) are very misleading regarding their interpretation of Universi Dominici Gregis, paragraph 76.  Skojec does not acknowledge or reference Universi Dominici Gregis, paragraph 5 in his commentary, while Peters casually references paragraph 5 but goes on to makes it sound like canon lawyers have a role in the interpretation of Universi Dominici Gregis

Neither canon lawyers, nor bishops, nor priests, nor laity have standing with regard to the official interpretation of Universi Dominici Gregis.

“Should doubts arise concerning the prescriptions contained in this Constitution, or concerning the manner of putting them into effect, I (Pope John Paul II) decree that all power of issuing a judgment in this regard belongs to the College of Cardinals, to which I grant the faculty of interpreting doubtful or controverted points. I also establish that should it be necessary to discuss these or other similar questions, except the act of election, it suffices that the majority of the Cardinals present should concur in the same opinion.”  [Universi Dominici Gregis, paragraph 5]
[Relevant Paragraph]
It is essential that my commentary (Election of Pope Francis Pursuant to Universi Dominici Gregis) be widelydisseminated.  Why?  Neither fraternal (i.e., Dubia) nor filial correction will dismantle the modernist infrastructure put in place by Jorge Mario Bergoglio (Pope Francis) – but a finding that the election of Bergoglio (Pope Francis) was invalid will invalidate his selection of modernist bishops and cardinals.  Compared to fraternal/filial correction, all concerned Catholics need to understand the significance of my argument – reference modernist infrastructure – that the election of Jorge Mario Bergoglio (Pope Francis) was not valid.

Cardinal Burke Calls SSPX "Schismatic"

[Aka Catholic] A few months ago, a kind reader reported that Cardinal Raymond Burke, at the Sacred Liturgy Conference that was held in Medford, OR, in July, had publicly declared that the FSSPX is “in schism” while advising the faithful to neither attend their liturgies nor receive their sacraments.

If true, I understood that this would be important information to share for obvious reasons, but I decided that it was first necessary to obtain irrefutable confirmation as to what was actually said.

Today I received an audio recording of Cardinal Burke’s condemnation of the FSSPX as given during the Q&A Session that was held on July 15, 2017 at the above referenced Sacred Liturgy Conference.

Cardinal Burke Back at the Apostolic Signatura

Edit: how can the press not criticize Bergoglio for having Daneels, who covered up rampant sex abuse on his watch, in a position of vital importance? Doesn't the Vatican need sweeping andnmopping? [Correction, wrong Daneels!. Anyway, why does Cardinal Daneels still have a position of trust in Bergoglio's inner-circle?]
[Catholic Herald] Pope Francis has reappointed Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke to the Apostolic Signatura, nearly three years after removing him as prefect.
The Holy See announced Saturday morning that the American cardinal had been appointed to the Vatican’s highest court along with Cardinal Agostino Vallini, Cardinal Edoardo Menichelli, Archbishop Frans Daneels and Bishop Johannes Willibrordus Maria Hendriks.
Cardinal Burke served as prefect of the court for six years before being removed in 2014 and appointed cardinal patron of the Order of Malta, a largely ceremonial post. It was highly unusual at the time to remove such a high-ranking cardinal without assigning him comparable responsibilities elsewhere.
He has since become a strong defender of traditional Church teaching and was one of the four cardinals who signed the ‘dubia’ requesting clarification on Amoris Laetitia.

Faithful Priest Afraid of Signing Filial Correction

Edit: he might be giving up everything he has. His life hasn't been an easy one either. The viciousness of Bergoglio's champions is nothing short of what you'd expect to see in the last days of Sodom.

[Father Ray Blake] I have been asked to sign the Filial Correction, I signed the letter of the 45 academics and pastors last year, and almost immediately found Cardinal Nichols' tanks parked on my lawn to inform me of his displeasure, which was quite mild unlike other lay signatories, who were sacked from their jobs in Catholic institutions for their pains, Dr. Josef Seifertis being the most high profile. I admit it, I am afraid to sign and I know other priests who share my fear. Many of those who might have signed have in the last four years have a certain fear about their place in the Church.

Rome and those surrounding the Pontiff have certainly become more vicious in defending him, never ever engaging in intellectual arguments, merely attacking like ravenous wolves or child bullies those who pose questions. The climate is bad throughout the Church, in Rome it is positively toxic. Under Francis the Vatican has become a place of fear and arbitrary oppression, there was a public glimpse of that in the sacking of Cdl Mueller by the Pope, and earlier in the dismissal of a couple of priests from the CDF and amongst laymen of Libero Milone, former Auditor General and many others. It is not just in theology that 2+2=5, or whatever number the Pope chooses that day, it extends to morality and ordinary human decency, ultimately it is a serious attack on the rationality of the Catholic faith and intellectual rigour.

Bishop Fellay Explains Why He Signed Filial Correction

Bishop Fellay: Why I Signed the Correctio Filialis

SEPTEMBER 26, 2017 BY FSSPX.NEWS
news-header-image
After the publication on Sunday, September 24, 2017, of the Correctio Filialis by 62 clerics and lay scholars in which they expose seven heretical propositions contained in the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia, FSSPX.News asked Bishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X, why he signed the document.

FSSPX.News: Why did you support the Correctio Filialis?

Bishop Fellay: This filial approach on the part of clerics and lay scholars, troubled by the heterodox propositions in Amoris Laetitia, is very important. Christ’s teaching on marriage can not be surreptitiously changed on the pretext that the times have changed and that pastoral care should adapt by offering ways to bypass doctrine.

I understand that the authors of the Correctio Filialis are overwhelmed by the division caused by Amoris Laetitia, by the pope’s explanations of this document in recent declarations, and by his statements on Luther. In some countries, the bishops now allow communion for the divorced and civilly remarried, while in others they refuse it. Is Catholic morality variable? Can it be subject to contradictory interpretations?

Since September 2016, four cardinals have been respectfully asking the pope to “clarify” his Exhortation; this year they requested an audience. The only answer they received was silence, but silence is not an answer. On a question this serious and faced with the current divisions, the Holy Father must give a clear answer on the substance of the Exhortation.

In this sad situation of confusion, it is very important that the debate on these important questions grows, in order that the truth may be re-established and error condemned.

That is why I supported this approach, but it is not so much the names of those who signed the Correctio Filialis as the objective value of the arguments presented that must be taken into account.

FSSPX.News: Does this affect the relations between the Society of St. Pius X and Rome?

Bishop Fellay: Our respect for the pope remains intact, and it is precisely out of respect for his office that we ask him as his sons to “confirm his brethren” by publicly rejecting the openly heterodox propositions that are causing so much division in the Church.

I appreciated the answer of Ettore Gotti Tedeschi [1], who also signed the Correctio Filialis. He rightly declared that we are not the enemies of the pope. On the contrary, we do this because we love the Church.

This was Archbishop Lefebvre’s attitude and that of the Society of St. Pius X from the beginning. In his declaration on November 21, 1974, our founder said, “We adhere with all our heart and all our soul to Catholic Rome, guardian of the Catholic Faith and the traditions necessary to maintain it, and to Eternal Rome, mistress of wisdom and truth. On the other hand we refuse and have always refused to follow the Rome of the neo-Modernist and neo-Protestant tendencies”; it is precisely this neo-Modernism and neo-Protestantism that the authors of the Correctio Filialis rightly denounced as the cause of the changes made by Amoris Laetitia in the doctrine and morality of marriage.

We are attached to Rome, Mater et Magistra, with every fiber of our being. We would no longer be Roman if we renounced her two-thousand-year-old doctrine; on the contrary, we would become the artisans of her demolition, with situation ethics dangerously upheld by weak doctrine.

Our fidelity to Tradition is not a way of living in the past, but a guarantee of sustainability for the future. It is on this condition alone we can serve the Church effectively.

FSSPX.News: What are your hopes for this Correctio Filialis?

Bishop Fellay: We must hope it will bring about a clearer realization of the gravity of the situation in the Church, both among the clergy and among the faithful. Indeed, as Benedict XVI admitted, “Peter’s barque is taking water on all sides”. This is no poetic image; it is a tragic reality. In this battle, faith and morals must be defended!

We also hope that others among those who have souls in their care will show their support. In exposing the objectively unorthodox propositions, the signatories of the Correctio Filialis have simply said loudly and clearly what many know in their heart. Is it not time for these pastors to say so, loud and clear? But, again, it is less the number of signatures than the objective value of the arguments that counts. The Truth revealed by Christ is not quantifiable; it is above all immutable.

We must implore God that the Vicar of Christ may restore complete clarity to such an essential area; the divine law of marriage can not be changed without causing serious dissension. If nothing is done, the division that is appearing in the Church will become irreparable. For this reason we pray that Our Lord’s words to St. Peter may truly apply to Pope Francis: “And thou, being once converted, confirm thy brethren” (Luke 22:32).

[1] Ettore Gotti Tedeschi, an economist and president of the Institute for the Works of Religion from 2009 to 2012, granted an interview to the Hispanic website Infovaticana (Sept. 24, 2017), that was republished by Vaticanist Marco Tosatti on his blog – Ed. Note.

Bishop Fellay Has Signed the Filial Correction -- Just Released!

Edit: it's here.

[FSSPX] On July 16, 2017, several clerics and lay scholars addressed a correctio filialis, a filial correction, to Pope Francis. They reveal the seven heresies contained in the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia.
A website has been created for the occasion: www.correctiofilialis.org; it offers information on the diffusion of the correctio filialis.
This thoroughly documented critique is a sort of sequel to the Dubia on Amoris Laetitia (September 19, 2016) of Cardinals Walter Brandmüller, Raymond L. Burke, Joachim Meisner, and Carlo Caffarra. (The latter two passed away this year, respectively on July 5 and September 6.) They respectfully requested Pope Francis to “clarify” five unorthodox points in Amoris Laetitia.
The Dubia remained unanswered and were later followed by a request for an audiencefrom the four authors (April 25, 2017). Their request was not granted.
On June 29, 2016, 45 theologians submitted to Cardinal Angelo Sodano, dean of the College of Cardinals, another critical studyof 19 points in Amoris Laetitia. This critique also went unanswered.
In the list of the 62 signatories of the correctio filialis are the names of several persons who already signed the critique of the 45 theologians in 2016, but among the new names is that of Bishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X, the only bishop who has signed the document so far, although – as the presentation of the correctio filialis explains – the list remains open.

Monsignor Brunero Gherardini Has Died

Monsignor Brunero Gherardini died yesterday at the age of 92. The distinguished theologian regarded the Second Vatican Council as an open question and, with a view to the church crisis, called for the "pending" discussion to be held.

(Rome) Yesterday the famous theologian Brunero Gherardini died at the age of 92. The former Dean of the Theological Faculty of the Pontifical Lateran University is considered one of the most important contemporary theologians.

Msgr. Gherardini was born on February 10, 1925, in Prato near Florence. After his high school studies, he entered the seminary of the Salesian Order "Cardinale Cagliero" in Ivrea. He was ordained priest in Pistoia on June 25, 1948, and was incardinated by Bishop Giuseppe De Bernardi in his home diocese and employed in parish work.

As a pupil of Monsignor Pietro Parente, he was awarded with his doctorate for the thesis, "The Word of God in the Theology of Karl Barth" (1955) with distinction at the Lateran University in Theology in 1952.

He was then a lecturer at the seminary of the diocese of Prato and diocesan assistant of Catholic Action and the Association of Catholic Students FUCI. In 1959, he was appointed to the Holy See as an official of the Sacred Congregation of the Sacred Congregation of Studies and Studiorum Universitatibus and responsible for the diocesan and regional seminaries of Italy.

Gherardini: Second Vaticanum: root of a misunderstanding

After several years of teaching, he was also appointed to the Chair of Ecclesiology of the Pontifical Lateran University in 1969, where he was also to become Dean of the Faculty of Theology.

In 1994, Pope John Paul II appointed him as a canon at the patriarchal basilica of Saint Peter the Vatican and the Apostolic Protonotary. In 2000, he succeeded Msgr. Piolanti as the head of the theological journal Divinitas.

He was a member of the Pontifical Academy of Saint Thomas Aquinas and secretary of the Pontifical Academy of Theology.

For more than 30 years, he has been the consultor of the Congregation for the Causes and Saints. For ten years he was the postulator of the beatification process for Pius IX. and head of the journal Pio IX.

Msgr. Gherardini is the author of more than 80 books and hundreds of other publications. Among his principal works are: Concilio Ecumenico Vaticano II. Un discorso da fare (Second Vatican Council: An open question) Casa Mariana Editrice, Frigento 2009; Quod et tradidi vobis. La tradizione, vita e giovinezza della Chiesa (tradition, life and youth of the church), Casa Mariana Editrice, Frigento 2010; Concilio Vaticano II. Il discorso mancato (Second Vatican Council: A pending discussion), Lindau, Torino 2011; Credo in Gesù Cristo (I believe in Jesus Christ), VivereIn, Monopoli 2012; Il Vaticano II. All radici d'un equivoco (Second Vatican Council: The Roots of a Misunderstanding). Lindau, Torino 2012. Contrappunto conciliare (counterpoint in terms of the Council), Lindau Torino 2013.

"In these books, he provides valuable tools to interpret the religious drama of our time. The death of Monsignor Gherardini, renowned theologian and teacher of numerous priests, is a serious loss for the Catholic world. His last writings are a must read for all who want to recognize and understand the roots of the crisis in which the Catholic Church is situated," Corrispondenza Romana said.

Above all, his work on the Second Vatican Council, published in 2009, "The Open Question," was translated into several languages, including French and Spanish. A German translation with consideration of the successor works on the subject would be an urgent desideratum.

Euge serve bone and fidelis intra in gaudium domini tui (Mt 25:21).

Requiescat in Pace.

Archbishop Chaput Defending Wolf-Jesuit -- Not Much Love for the Sheep

Edit: thanks to Susan for this. Worst Things is probabaly worse than America Magazine. Controlled oppositions, pretending to be a voice or reason, like the Neconservative Archbishop Chaput, who, rather than be worried about the honor of the Catholic Faith and the absurdity of having a Jesuit like Martin floating around, is more worried about the tone of his critics. It reminds us of the time when he was upset with Diogenes from the Mail of Olde, chastising him for allowing a Mass to he said for his pro-Abort governor, the evil Bill Ritter. Chaput's thin-skinned response through his mouthpiece was as telling as it was pathetic. Diogenes disappeared from public circulation not long after that, and he's been missed...

Chaput might not be the prelate we want, but is he the one we deserve? How long?

As I write these words I’m looking at an untitled cartoon from the National Catholic Reporter in the Wojtyla-era 1980s. It’s an image of an elaborate canopy with praying angels draped over a Chair of Peter—in this case, a toilet with the papal insignia. It’s tied to a column that argues, among other things, that the “Catholic church is uncomfortable with two things. Sex and bowel movements.”
The humor is childish. It’s lightweight snarkiness compared to much of the Reporter’s caustic fare for the past few decades. It pales next to the savage anti-Roman woodcuts of early Lutheran polemics. But the cartoon’s message is nonetheless—how to say it?—not one of filial esteem. Or even Christian civility.
I remembered the cartoon, and its source, while reading Massimo Faggioli’s recent (Sept. 18) thoughts in La Croix’s online international edition. In “Catholic Cyber-Militias and the New Censorship,” Faggioli rightly worries about the river of vitriol now “profoundly changing the communion of the Catholic Church.” He also generously mentions my own public repudiation of the tactics of groups like the Lepanto Institute and Church Militant during our 2015 ramp-up for the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia and the visit of Pope Francis.

Abbé Claude Barthe: "The Restoration  Begun by Summorum Pontificum is Irreversible"

"We can say today that the restoration of the liturgy begun in the Church by Summorum Pontificum is irreversible."

Abbé Claude Barthe, spiritual assistant to the international pilgrimage, Populus Summorum Pontificum, said this in his greeting to Archbishop of Curia, Georg Gänswein, who celebrated the Vespers at the feast of the Crucifixion in the traditional form of the Roman Rite on the evening of 14 September 2017 in the Roman church of San Marco al Campidoglio.

Pope Francis had also used the word "irreversible" (irreversible). Without mentioning him, Abbé Barthe answered the Pope, who had said on 24 August, "We can safely and with dumb authority confirm that the liturgical form is irreversible."

Deviants Rule the Vatican Under Francis' Papacy

ROME, July 11, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) -- Not only are gay-orgies happening in the Vatican, but the extent of homosexual activity in the Vatican under Pope Francis’ watch has “never been worse,” a reliable senior member of the Curia told National Catholic Register’s Ed Pentin.
Pentin wrote earlier this week that this Vatican Curia member confirmed to him that “multiple sources” within the Vatican, including another senior curial figure, say that the report of a drug-fueled gay orgy right next to St. Peter’s is true.
“He said the extent of homosexual practice in the Vatican has ‘never been worse,’ despite efforts begun by Benedict XVI to root out sexual deviancy from the curia after the Vatileaks scandal of 2012,” Pentin wrote in his report.

Correction to Amoris Laetitua Imminent

Edit: who will the other signatories be?

Anonimi della Croce wrote on September 16 that Cardinal Raymond Burke disclosed in a private setting during the recent Congress on Summorum Pontificum in Rome, that a "correction" of the controversial Amoris Laetitia is imminent.

It will not openly confront Francis but will take the form of letter or document signed by Cardinal Burke and other prelates, who in a magisterial way will correct those parts of Amoris Laetitia that contradict the Catholic Faith.

Bishop Defends Decadent Jesuit

Edit: here is Bishop McElroy trying to finesse degeneracy.
[America] Father James Martin is a distinguished Jesuit author who has spent his life building bridges within the Catholic Church and between the church and the wider world. He has been particularly effective in bringing the Gospel message to the millennial generation. When we survey the vast gulf that exists between young adults and the church in the United States, it is clear that there could be no more compelling missionary outreach for the future of Catholicism than the terrain that Father Martin has passionately and eloquently pursued over the past two decades. There are few evangelizers who have engaged that terrain with more heart and skill and devotion.

Last year Father Martin undertook a particularly perilous project in this work of evangelization: building bridges between the church and the L.G.B.T. community in the United States. He entered it knowing that the theological issues pertaining to homosexuality constituted perhaps the most volatile element of ecclesial life in U.S. culture.

It was this very volatility that spurred Father Martin to write his new book Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the L.G.B.T. Community Can Enter into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion and Sensitivity. Using a methodology that is fully consonant with Catholic teaching, employing Scripture, the rich pastoral heritage of the church and an unadulterated realism that makes clear both the difficulty and the imperative for establishing deeper dialogue, Father Martin opens a door for proclaiming that Jesus Christ and his church seek to embrace fully and immediately men and women in the L.G.B.T. community.

Catholic University of Chile Flies Flag at Half-Mast After Abortion Ruling

(Santiago de Chile) At the Catholic University of Chile the flag was lowered to half-mast because of the legalization of abortion.
Rector Ignacio Sanchez declared that the day when the law on the decriminalization of the killing of unborn children "will be remembered with grief for many years."
Last Thursday, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile lowered the University's flag to half-mast to mark this grief over the legalization of abortion in three cases.
Since 14 September, Chile has ceased to be one of the countries where the life of unborn children is unconditionally protected. State President Michelle Bachelet announced on this day that the law is in force, which allows the killing of the unborn child at the risk of a mother's life, in the case of malformation of the fetus and rape.
According to the daily newspaper El Mercurio, the rector of the Catholic University of the country declared that the entry into force of the law was "a sad day for the university". This is also expressed by the flag at half-mast.
"Our university does not regard this law as progress in our country," says Sanchez. At the same time, he announced that there would be "no abortions" at the university hospital and the hospitals connected with the university. "We stand for the right to life from birth to natural death."
In this sense, the university and its institutions "will always work for the unborn life as well as the mother".
As the law came into effect, a prayer vigil for the unborn children took place before the episcopal residence of Villarica. "We want to show our support for the unborn children to our country. We also testify to our refusal to comply with this law and the will to fight until this law will be abolished," said Francisco Javier Stegmeier, Bishop of Villarica, according to a press release from the Chilean Episcopal Conference.
The Socialist Michelle Bachelet, who has been in office since March 2014, has been leading the fight for "homosexual marriage," the adoption of minors by aberrosexuals and abortion in Chile since 2015.  Nevertheless, the Chilean President will be present as a speaker at the Vatican on 2 November.  Bachelet will be lecturing on climate change during a meeting chaired by  Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo  who heads Pope Francis' political arm in the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.
